In terms of antihistamine efficacy, Dextrocetirizine and Levocetirizine are compared. It is found that dextrocetirizine may engage in competition with levocetirizine in binding to H1 receptors that block total efficacy of the medication. Levrix only has levocetirizine which blocks the action of H1 histamine receptor. Plus, Levrix consists of not just one, but two levocetirizine enantiomers for greater efficacy and double the affinity for ceterizine, an H1 receptor.
