Overview

Zovirax??Cold Sore Cream??contains the antiviral medication aciclovir, which is used to treat cold sores of the lips and face due to Herpes Simplex virus infection.??It??relieves painful symptoms and speeds up the healing process.

A tingling sensation on the lips or face is the warning sign the virus has been activated, and if used at this early stage, within 24 hours of the first tingle, Zovirax cold sore cream may prevent the cold sore from developing.

Zovirax cold sore cream can be used at any stage of infection, to prevent spread of infection, reduce and relieve painful symptoms, and speed up the healing process to help heal blisters and sores caused by the infection.

Active ingredients

5% Aciclovir.

Dosage

Apply the cream liberally to completely cover the entire??affected area.

Apply five times a day at approximately 4 hourly intervals for four days.

Precautions

• Do not use in eyes or on genitals.
• Do not exceed the stated dose.
• For external use only.
• Zovirax cream should not be used if you are allergic to aciclovir; are pregnant or breast feeding; or are immunocompromised, for example, due to HIV infection or organ transplant.
